Gluten Free Avocado Banana Mousse dessert recipe

Here is a recipe I found advertised in a health magazine from www.reallyhealthyfoods.com. It sounded so good so I decided to have a go and I can definitely recommend it for a quick, healthy and refreshing dessert that will make you feel good too! Bananas are a great source of potassium, iron and energy whilst avocados are packed with essential good fats and vitamin E. Even dark chocolate has been proven to be good for you in moderation so tuck in and enjoy! 😉

What you need to know:
Prep time: 15 mins

Ingredients for 4 portions:
2 Bananas sliced preferably over ripe
2 soft Avocados peeled
1 Lemon
1 Lime
splash of coconut milk

To decorate (optional):
Toasted flaked almonds
Toasted flaked coconut
Grated dark chocolate

Method:

1. In a large bowl add the sliced bananas and avocados.

2. Add the juices of the lemon and lime and add 2 tbsp of coconut milk.

3. Blend with a hand blender until you reach a smooth puree consistency.

4. Divide into 4 dessert bowls and decorate with toasted almonds, coconut and grated dark chocolate. If you don’t like the toppings you can always just have chocolate instead of the almonds and coconut. Not everyone is a fan of flaked or dessicated coconut and some are allergic to nuts!
